Multiplication Processes in High-Density H-11B Fusion Fuel
نویسندگان
چکیده
Proton-boron fusion would offer considerable advantages for the purpose of energy production as reaction is aneutronic and does not involve radioactive species. Its exploitation, however, appears to be particularly challenging due low reactivity H-11B fuel at temperatures up 100 keV. Fusion chain-reaction concepts have been proposed possible means overcome this limitation. Relevant findings are reviewed in article. Energy-amplification processes also presented, which interest beam-fusion experiments fast ignition fuel. Directions further work outlined well.

Zero dimensional model for determining particle and energy densities of P-11B fusion reaction in radiotherapy
Three alpha particles are emitted from the P-11B fusion reaction. Alpha particles play an important role in the death of cancer cells. When boron is accumulated in the tumor, protons irradiated out of body can react with the boron in the tumor. Also a fast gamma ray of 719 KeV beam is released from the P-11B fusion reaction which plays a useful role for us. This therapeutic approach includes fe...
متن کاملControl Processes in Virus Multiplication
This volume meets the usual high standard of the Society for General Microbiology symposia, but if the reader is looking for a neat compilation of the control mechanisms, he may be disappointed. Except for a few bacteriophage systems, the state of our knowledge has not reached the place where specific controls for individual steps can be defined. This book does devote two chapters to the phage-...
متن کاملHigh-areal-density fuel assembly in direct-drive cryogenic implosions.
The first observation of ignition-relevant areal-density deuterium from implosions of capsules with cryogenic fuel layers at ignition-relevant adiabats is reported. The experiments were performed on the 60-beam, 30-kJUV OMEGA Laser System [T. R. Boehly, Opt. Commun. 133, 495 (1997)10.1016/S0030-4018(96)00325-2]. Neutron-averaged areal densities of 202+/-7 mg/cm2 and 182+/-7 mg/cm2 (correspondin...
متن کاملThe Design of High Power Density Annular Fuel for LWRs
Fuel performance models have been developed to assess the performance of internally and externally cooled LWR annular fuel. Such fuel may be operated at 30-50% higher core power density than the current operating LWRs, and to a burnup of 80-100MWd/kgU. The models are used to optimize the fuel design so that it is able to achieve high power density and high burnup, and to identify the features o...
